Description

The Plant Maintenance Manager reports to the Operations Manager and leads the Plant Maintenance Technicians. The role involves organizing and scheduling projects, service, and fabrication for each ready‑mix plant and related facilities, managing the maintenance budget, coordinating with the Aggregate Foreman, Area Managers, and Fleet Manager, and ensuring safety, environmental responsibility, and timely project completion.

• Organize and schedule projects, service, and fabrication for each ready‑mix plant, cement terminal, and related areas.
• Maintain maintenance budget and forecast future project costs.
• Prioritize project needs, order materials, and manage resources for maintenance projects.
• Lead the project committee to develop appropriate budgets for upcoming projects.
• Coordinate plant and building maintenance with Area Managers, Aggregate Superintendent, and Fleet Manager.
• Supervise technicians diagnosing malfunctions, performing repairs, and maintaining plant structures.
• Complete projects on schedule and meet projected deadlines.
• Ensure employees work safely and professionally; keep plants, yards, and equipment free of hazards.
• Conduct weekly safety huddles and promote environmental responsibility.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and near‑misses, determine root causes, and aim to eliminate future incidents.
• Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork.
• Document all repairs, parts used, issues, and ordering needs following paper‑flow procedures.
• Maintain composure under stress and time constraints.
• Safely navigate facilities and climb ladders.
• Work long, flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum two‑year university degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
• Troubleshoot and replace defective electrical components (preferred).
• Strong communication skills.
• Basic electrical wiring knowledge; know when to call an electrician.
• Ability to weld and fabricate.
• Strict adherence to safety policies (lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, etc.).
• Efficient work organization and prioritization.
• At least five years of plant management or equivalent managerial experience.
• Ability to develop and manage budgets, lead personnel, and continuously improve operations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Lift and maneuver up to 100 lb.
• Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for long periods.
• Ability to discern colors, use tools and equipment properly.
• Work in varied weather conditions and outdoors.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
