-Safety Promotion: Promote safe working practices across all areas of responsibility. -Design Representation: Act as the design representative in meetings with project teams and clients. -Design Development: Challenge project briefs to facilitate innovative engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed design. -Project and Staff Management: Manage projects and mentor junior staff, fostering their development and skills enhancement. -Clear Documentation: Produce calculations, reports, and sketches that are clear and consistent, adhering to current Codes of Practice and Standards. -Innovative Solutions: Utilise initiative and engineering principles to propose effective solutions. -Engineering Checks: Design and check engineering solutions, ensuring robustness and compliance with standards.

What You Bring
-Background: Candidates from rail, civil, or structural engineering design backgrounds within client, contractor, or consultancy organisations are highly desirable. -Experience: Previous experience as a Senior Design Engineer in a rail project environment. -Project Design Experience: Experience in designing civil engineering projects such as bridges, structures, stations, and platforms. -Team Communication: Effectively communicate design philosophy and requirements within the team and to external clients and stakeholders. -Target Appreciation: Understand and appreciate the financial, quality, and program targets of the team. -Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering with IEng/CEng accreditation.
