The Detailer role is critical for coordinating and executing mechanical, plumbing, piping, and sheet‑metal systems on projects. Responsibilities include reviewing plans, specifications, and submittals, identifying design issues, and collaborating with engineers and general contractors from concept through final detailing. The Detailer creates precise drawings that guide field crews in prefabrication and installation.
Daily work relies on Fabrication CADmep and other CAD tools to produce detailed job files, download shop drawings, and generate material lists. The Detailer maintains constant communication with engineers, foremen, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of systems and resolve any design conflicts.
Success in this position requires strong clerical skills, proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets, and the ability to manage files and records. Effective oral and written communication, active listening, problem‑solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment are essential for interacting with customers, team members, and management.
Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma and have 2–3 years of related experience, with 3–5 years of field foreman experience preferred. Training in Fabrication CADmep, AutoCAD, and Revit is required, as is the ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, submittals, and to verify on‑site conditions.
The position is primarily sedentary but includes occasional walking, bending, standing, and the ability to lift up to 50 lb. Applicants must successfully pass a background check, drug screening, and employment verification.
Employees receive comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including company‑paid medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, accident & sickness coverage, group life, AD&D, and an Employee Assistance Program. Paid vacation, holidays, sick leave, and a 401(k) retirement plan are also offered.
