- Perform administrative duties associated with project management for solid waste projects
- Assist with writing solid waste and zero waste plans.
- Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
- Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage
- Provide support on projects assisting clients with compliance of California legislation (SB 1383, AB 1826, AB 341).
- Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
- Assist in solid waste facility permitting and compliance
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
- Conduct research, perform data analysis, prepare reports, and other administrative work to help with projects.
- Conduct waste characterization studies and other field related activities.
- Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation
- Attend meetings on technical related issues with the client and other HDR supervising staff.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and GIS experience
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
- Hazwopper 40 hour training
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
