Key duties include coordinating electrical work on solar sites, partnering with the Electrical Superintendent on material sizing and site utilization, and developing project schedules with a three‑week look‑ahead. The Assistant Superintendent ensures crews have necessary resources, supervises quality control for both self‑performed and subcontracted work, and acts as a liaison between field engineers, contractors, and craft workers. Additional responsibilities involve leading and mentoring the electrical team, fostering an inclusive teamwork environment, monitoring progress of crafts and subcontractors, implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program, managing budgets, overseeing subcontractor and supplier relationships, and performing on‑site project manager duties for smaller scopes while enforcing quality plans.
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Electrical Superintendent for its Power Delivery Services Group. The role requires interaction with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, demanding flexibility, resourcefulness, professionalism, and confidentiality. The individual must anticipate problems, identify critical issues, and devise creative solutions while coordinating and supervising electricians on solar project sites.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or possess equivalent experience. Required qualifications include at least five years of construction/supervision experience with medium to high voltage projects, strong teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills, and a detail‑oriented approach to managing multiple tasks. Applicants must understand basic construction law, be proficient with Microsoft Office and related project tools, demonstrate a professional attitude and excellent customer service, interpret Mortenson policies, have experience with self‑perform projects, possess a valid driver’s license, and be able to travel up to 100% of the time.
