Lead CDM & Principal Designer for construction projects ensuring safety compliance
You’ll be responsible for collating, preparing and issuing Health & Safety Files to the client.
You will be fulfilling the duties of the Principal Designer as defined under CDM 2015 including where necessary carrying out the role of CDM-Advisor to support the client.
You will be providing clear, concise, and practical Health and Safety advice, guidance and coaching to project teams throughout all stages of the project.
You’ll be responsible for fees, invoicing, closing out appointments and supporting debtor control.
You’ll be responsible for exploring potential cross-sell opportunities across the wider Bellrock teams.
You’ll work with the client to gather preconstruction information, assess the adequacy, identify gaps and provide advice on how they might be filled and distribute to those that need it.
You’ll be planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating pre-construction phases of projects to identify, eliminate, or control significant and foreseeable risks relating to construction, maintenance, cleaning and using the building as a workplace.
You’ll be managing multiple projects for key clients to the business particularly focused on the high-rise residential refurbishment, development and commercial sector.
You’ll be attending client meetings and carrying out H&S site inspections and delivering high quality reports to the client within agreed deadlines.

You have a natural curiosity for problem solving.
You’ll have relevant experience making sure that multiple team members and duty holders such as the client, designers, contractors and other internal multidisciplinary team members at John Rowan and Partners coordinate and cooperate with each other and check that relevant duties are complied with.
You have excellent working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and appropriate legislation.
You’re comfortable with working autonomously and managing your own workload effectively.
You have demonstrable previous experience in successfully delivering the Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles in the residential refurbishment, development, and commercial sector.
You have a natural ability to achieve ‘buy-in’ or ‘win over’ project teams to drive forward Health and Safety in a positive light.
You have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction industry with experience of CDM/Health and Safety issues in construction.
You ideally hold a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
You’re an effective decision maker and an excellent team player.
You ideally are an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs).
You’re a confident, clear, and articulate communicator with effective interpersonal skills with both clients, contractors, and colleagues in verbal and written format.
You have a full and clean driver’s license.
You will need to be a good communicator with interpersonal and organisational skills
You will need a willingness to travel to varied sites across London, Home Counties, and the Southeast.
