The Field Service Engineer reports to the Regional Service Manager and is responsible for providing technical support for both standard and custom switchgear systems across an assigned territory. This includes field startups, warranty work, remedial repairs, and preventive‑maintenance contracts, while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Perform startup, preventative maintenance, testing, repair, and advanced electrical services on generator paralleling controls and switchgear.
- Ensure customer satisfaction within the assigned territory.
- Train and assist technicians, field service engineers, and customers in troubleshooting, repair, and testing.
- Support the Dealer Product Support Center help desk to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with dealer service and sales teams to promote products and assist with technician certification.
- Submit daily reports, weekly expenses, and project documentation promptly.
- Maintain current knowledge through training on new platforms.
- Mentor and develop junior service engineers.
- Participate in on‑call duty for the territory.

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or at least 5 years of equipment work experience.
- Ability to read AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams.
- PLC programming experience (Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, GE, etc.).
- Knowledge of power distribution and switchgear.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; residence within one hour of a major airport.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lb, stand or sit for prolonged periods, and travel up to 75 % of the time.
- Strong oral and written communication, business acumen, and organizational skills.
