The Service Business Officer will industrialise existing and future on‑wing maintenance capabilities for the global civil large‑engine fleet, working within the On‑Wing Operations team based in Derby, UK, which is part of Rolls‑Royce’s Aftermarket Operations business.
The On‑Wing Operations team supports the entire civil aerospace fleet by providing real‑time data, 24/7 services control, spare parts, spare engines and on‑wing services, and has developed innovative solutions such as the AeroJetVac core washing system and the Intelligent Borescope.
The role bridges the capability development team and the On‑Wing Services team, defining global fleet requirements, managing the industrialisation plan, integrating engineering, procurement, fleet planning and other value streams, and coordinating with external service providers to forecast load and capacity.
- Lead and manage delivery of workstreams or small projects for industrialising new capabilities across the global services network.
- Build and maintain relationships with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Procurement, Vendor Teams, Site Leads, value streams) to align activities.
- Support development and implementation of initiatives to unlock capability, aligning with demand forecasts and plans.
- Deliver localized process changes, training plans, tools, and standardisation packages for capability deployment.
- Monitor, track and report on deliverables, milestones and risks, providing updates and escalating issues.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and adhere to governance and compliance frameworks.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to streamline service readiness and embed lessons learned.

- Experience in Operations, Supply Chain or Project Delivery roles.
- Strong project coordination skills managing multiple deliverables and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Analytical, problem‑solving mindset with data‑driven decision making.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, global environment with changing priorities.
- Desirable: working knowledge of Overhaul, MRO and Vendor Operations.
