The Service Commissioning Technician will commission hydro turbine‑generator sets, preparing procedures, calibrating instruments and verifying auxiliary systems on‑site. Working closely with the Commissioning Manager and engineers, the technician ensures safe start‑up, conducts electrical and mechanical tests, and documents all activities. The role also includes providing technical support to field teams and contributing to problem‑solving throughout the project lifecycle. Travel to project sites, including the United States, is required for the majority of the time.
Candidates must have a solid understanding of electromechanical systems, strong multitasking abilities and excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check, legal authorization to work in Canada and the ability to travel at least 80 % of the time are required. Experience with data‑acquisition software, IEEE 115 standards, or electrical/mechanical installation is considered an asset. A diploma in industrial design with an electrical option or a college diploma in industrial electronics is required.
