Description

The Janitor role is vital to keeping workplaces clean, organized, and disinfected. Employees in this position are expected to maintain high standards of hygiene across various office environments while supporting overall facility operations.

Daily duties include cleaning interior surfaces such as floors, carpets, windows, walls, and furniture; vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and removing stains from upholstery; disinfecting high‑touch items; emptying and sanitizing trash containers; and maintaining restrooms with stocked supplies. The role also involves washing windows and mirrors, clearing trash and snow from sidewalks when required, and keeping a cleaning chart that logs completed tasks.

Janitors must manage cleaning‑supply inventory, request missing materials, and promptly notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs. They must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and close doors at the end of the night shift.

• Clean interior surfaces including floors, carpets, windows, walls, and furniture.
• Vacuum, sweep, mop and remove stains from upholstery.
• Disinfect high‑touch items such as desks, door handles, phones, and restroom fixtures.
• Empty and clean trash cans, ashtrays, and handle recycling.
• Maintain restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure cleanliness of mirrors and windows.
• Remove trash and snow from sidewalks when needed.
• Track inventory of cleaning supplies and request replacements as required.
• Report unsafe conditions and follow all safety and precaution rules.

Requirements
