The Programme Manager is responsible for strategic planning, master programming, stakeholder management, resource planning, risk mitigation, and ensuring the successful delivery of multiple data centre projects within a programme or specific campus. The role aligns projects with the organisation’s objectives, optimises resource utilisation and delivers value through supply networks, master service agreements, innovation, and enhanced functional and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include strategic leadership—aligning the programme schedule with business goals, overseeing the full programme to achieve economies of scale and efficiency, and collaborating with stakeholders while managing communication and reporting. The manager creates a master programme schedule that integrates individual project schedules, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams, establishing baselines and understanding inter‑project dependencies.
Risk management involves developing a programme‑level risk plan, identifying, analysing and mitigating risks. The manager also establishes communication systems such as a RACI chart, consistent project‑planning templates, and coordinates with project managers to optimise execution timing, redesigning or rescheduling projects as needed.
Procurement duties include building and maintaining a supply network of contractors, consultants, HSE providers and critical equipment suppliers, pre‑qualifying them and negotiating master service agreements. Financial management responsibilities cover contributing to budget estimates, planning project cash flows, monitoring costs and anticipating final expenditures against budgets.
