As a Safety Specialist in the Cooling, Power & Connectivity division, you will act as a key advisor and subject‑matter expert for HVAC, generator, UPS, field engineering, and tower operations. The role demands independent judgment in incident investigations, safety procedure development, training design, and regulatory compliance recommendations. You will collaborate with operational leaders to assess risk, influence decisions, and drive improvements in electrical and vehicle safety, while maintaining a strong field presence.
You will lead investigations of injuries, vehicle collisions, and near‑miss events, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Responsibilities include designing and delivering safety training (LOTO, NFPA 70E, defensive driving), developing procedures and checklists, and analyzing leading and lagging safety indicators to recommend program enhancements. Additional duties involve field evaluations, hazard control recommendations, driver‑safety program improvements, stakeholder reporting, routine audits, toolbox talks, and support for regulatory inspections.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of field safety or coordination experience within HVAC, generator, tower, or field‑engineering environments. Required technical knowledge includes electrical safety, LOTO, NFPA 70E, confined space entry, and defensive driving best practices. Strong judgment, the ability to prioritize independently, and familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations (Cal/OSHA preferred) are essential. Preferred certifications are OSHA 30‑Hour, First Aid/CPR, CHST, CSHO, or ASP, and the role involves 65–70 % travel, preferably in the Midwest region.
