Description
The Lemartec Site Safety Manager is responsible for promoting and ensuring site safety and has comprehensive knowledge of day-to-day safety field operations for assigned projects, including planning, coordinating, and enforcing safety regulations and codes. The role serves as the company’s point of contact for owners, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and Lemartec’s team for all safety‑related matters.
The manager provides safety and health, accident‑prevention, and investigation training for managers and supervisors, assists with annual safety overviews, and conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow‑up assessments. They also plan, implement, and conduct preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
- Develop and conduct safety processes and training for ongoing awareness, emergency response, and new‑employee orientation.
- Create, deliver, and maintain OSHA‑required management documentation and recordkeeping.
- Perform daily site safety inspections and inspect safety equipment, removing defective items and managing fall‑protection inspections.
- Schedule, prepare, submit, review, and approve Job Hazard Analyses; maintain a tracking log.
- Manage accident reporting, investigation, and recordkeeping.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements.
- Compile and analyze statistical data on near‑misses, incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
- Participate in root‑cause analyses for injury/incident investigations and obtain reports from job sites.
- Record and manage all site safety documentation; produce detailed weekly written reports.
- Implement company environmental policies in line with state/EPA regulations.
- Recommend purchase of safety equipment.
- Participate in pre‑construction and pre‑work safety meetings.
- Facilitate mass safety meetings and weekly tailgate meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
- Coordinate substance‑abuse testing and set up medical clinics for new job sites.
- Lead Lemartec’s “return‑to‑work” program with employees, medical professionals, and project personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction safety experience.
- OSHA 30‑hour certification (minimum); CHST preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
- Experience with data‑center projects preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, and applicable codes.
- Strong construction field safety skill set and ability to manage safety in fast‑paced environments.
- Experience interacting with regulatory agencies, safety/health professionals, and legal representatives.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document‑control software such as Procore.
Benefits
This is a traveling position, up to 100% of the time, covering sites across the United States (NC, VA, GA, TX, FL, IA, WY) with an average assignment of 6‑8 months per project. Eligible employees receive a daily per diem, a vehicle allowance, and a home‑rotation weekend each month.
