The Bookkeeper reports to the Community Manager and oversees daily operations and financial functions of a housing community. In addition to managing rent delinquency and collections to optimize cash flow, the Bookkeeper acts as an onsite leader, supervising staff and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and fair‑housing regulations when a Community Manager is absent.
Candidates should have a high school diploma (a bachelor’s degree is preferred) and relevant experience in the housing industry, along with basic computer skills and knowledge of Fair Housing and OSHA requirements. The role requires regular on‑site attendance, the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, navigating ladders and confined spaces, and availability for overtime, weekends, or emergency hours.
Compensation is hourly ($19–$21) plus a comprehensive total‑rewards package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, accidental and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, commission or performance bonuses, paid sick days and company holidays.
