Regulatory Compliance Specialist Sr - Upstream

Description

• Drafts and files high-impact compliance reports and permits, including those for multi-well pads, enhanced recovery, and emissions control
• Monitors, interprets, and communicates evolving regulatory frameworks to leadership, translating complex compliance shifts into actionable strategies
• Conducts targeted compliance audits and due diligence reviews to support asset integrity, acquisitions, and operational readiness
• Preforms investigations into regulatory non-conformance, collaborating with EH&S and field operations to drive resolution and maintain license to operate
• Provides mentorship to junior compliance specialists or cross-functional project teams, fostering regulatory excellence
• Leads the preparation and submission of regulatory filings tied to drilling, completions, and production operations—ensuring alignment with upstream activity timelines and permitting cycles
• Designs and implements enhancements to compliance management systems, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency
• Partners with legal counsel to assess regulatory interpretations and implications

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
• Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
• Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experience
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Energy Policy, Law, or related field. Minimum 8 year of experience in regulatory compliance or energy-related legal work.
