The role involves coordinating with project teams to conduct air quality and noise analyses that comply with applicable laws, DOT policies, and project schedules. Candidates must be proficient in qualitative air‑quality assessments, traffic‑noise impact and abatement studies, and may contribute to NEPA documentation for federal, state, and municipal highway and railway projects.
Strong attention to detail, time‑management skills, and the ability to handle multiple assignments in parallel are essential. The position may also require occasional field work and the ability to read engineering drawings in MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, etc.
Required qualifications include at least two years of highway traffic noise analysis experience, certified training with the FHWA Traffic Noise Model, and proficiency in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office. Candidates must be able to obtain, analyze, and document sound‑level data, hold a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or science field, and be comfortable interacting with clients.
Preferred experience includes completing or reviewing air and noise analysis for Georgia DOT projects. Professional Engineer licensure is not required.
