

Provides electric, gas, and water services to Memphis and surrounding areas.
Essential duties include gathering and organizing data for departmental projects and reports, requesting and providing information, and executing assigned projects by conferring with supervisors to define project needs, scope, and progress reports. Interns are responsible for project assignments, research, analysis, observing subject matter experts, training on various tasks, and performing other duties as assigned.
A valid driver’s license or state identification card is required.
Applicants must be full‑time college or university students maintaining a GPA of at least 2.5. Relevant majors include finance, human resources, business administration, purchasing, communication, education, or other related fields.
Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical and mathematical abilities, and be self‑directed to work without supervision. They must maintain a professional work ethic, think critically, solve problems, be authorized to work in the U.S. full‑time without restriction, and demonstrate teamwork, safety awareness, flexibility, and the ability to work in a diverse workforce.
Memphis Light, Gas, and Water is seeking intern students to perform non‑technical duties and receive training in various departments throughout the Division. Students will alternate between work and school for one to six semesters, gaining hands‑on experience, working on challenging projects, networking with professionals, and learning from knowledgeable people in the utility industry. Delegated duties and responsibilities will vary by assignment.
