The Crew Lead – Fiber serves as the on‑site coordinator and supervisor for voice and data installation projects, ensuring that work meets company and customer quality and safety standards while keeping the crew efficient.
In this role the lead runs major project crews, provides training, holds weekly safety meetings, and escalates performance issues to the Project Manager. The lead works with the Project Manager to maintain productivity, stay within budget, and complete installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshooting across a variety of fiber and copper systems.
The position requires proficiency with testing tools such as OTDR and Fluke DTX‑180, the ability to perform both mechanical and fusion splicing, and experience terminating various fiber types and connector kits. Candidates must be self‑motivated, able to lift 50‑75 lb, work at heights and in confined spaces, read color‑coded labels, and possess strong problem‑solving and communication skills. A high school diploma or GED is required; 5+ years of fiber experience, industry certifications, data‑center and OSP experience are preferred, along with familiarity with a comprehensive set of hand tools.
The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $28 to $36, requires a high school education, and is classified at a 2‑4 skill level.
