The Senior Construction Manager will support DOT project leadership, ensure engineering and construction services align with project goals and administrative requirements, and meet DOT scheduling responsibilities while balancing policy and stakeholder needs.
Key duties include committing consultant engineering resources, managing timely reviews of submittals with a design‑build mindset, developing processes to assess and resolve comments, and leading a technical‑issue escalation process to address problems early at the lowest level possible.
The role also requires recording and managing critical engineering and construction decisions to provide documentation that protects against future change orders and claims.
Arcadis is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager for its Southeast team. The role, location‑flexible, will draw on deep transportation‑industry expertise to support planning, execution, and delivery of DOT projects.
Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, plus at least ten years of experience in transportation infrastructure development and construction, including familiarity with DOT standards, specifications, and construction administration processes.
Essential skills include experience on design‑build or P3 projects of similar scale, the ability to navigate complex political situations, coordinate multiple project support efforts, understand public policy related to transportation, lead meetings, provide proactive field solutions, and conduct constructability reviews.
Preferred qualifications are DBIA certification, an EIT or Professional Engineering license, and a CCM certificate from the CMAA.
