Under general direction, you will be responsible for the service, repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low‑voltage subsystems such as lighting, nurse call, and data networks. You will be accountable for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service and repairs, and you will develop complex software programs, commissioning procedures, and troubleshooting solutions to ensure proper system operation.
Your day‑to‑day duties include designing and configuring technically complex building control systems, creating flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics, and preparing drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services, and installations. You will select, order, and track materials, assist with loading and commissioning of controllers, validate system functionality, provide field change information for as‑built documentation, keep management and customers informed of progress, and conduct site‑specific training for owners/operators. Additional responsibilities involve participating in coordination meetings, performing value engineering for cost‑effective results, supervising junior Controls Technicians, and adhering strictly to safety standards.
The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and has at least eight years of experience in construction, service, or the HVAC industry. Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and low‑voltage protocols such as LON and BACnet is required, as well as the ability to convey technical information to non‑technical audiences and advanced computer‑related drafting skills.
