Review and approve transformer and reactor designs through the development and execution phases and attend FATs of the same to support the Technical Authority function.
Promote best practice within the electric plant discipline, bringing your experience to provide suggested improvements in specifications, innovation of technology options and management of engineering risks.
Liaise with other equipment plant engineers e.g. switchgear, FACTS and grid stabilisation in formulation of complete substation scope of works.
Write electric plant scope of works related to Transformers and Reactors in the substation from 33kV to 400kV

A technical understanding of underlying British and international standards, relevant legislation and the implications for both Assets and Projects, including CDM & ESQCR.
Experience in transformers and reactors specifically related design manufacturing, factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning ideally up to 400kV . Should have worked in at least one of the functions above but have good knowledge about other functions as well.
Experience of substation project document review and of other substation equipment such as AIS, GIS, FACTs, will be added advantage.

Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders with an appetite for building strong and lasting relationships.
A degree in Electrical or other relevant engineering discipline and ideally be a Chartered Engineer in a relevant institution or working towards chartered status
