  • Follow all safety rules, regulations and practices in performing all work assignments.
  • Communicate with Yard Foreman & Superintendent regarding major repairs, downtime and budget needs.
  • Manage parts inventory, order new parts and track usage.
  • Use basic computer skills to look up parts, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems on our construction equipment, inclusive of rough terrain forklifts, boom lifts, generators, skid loaders, and other construction support equipment.
  • Welding, fabricating and rebuilding equipment components as needed.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance follow OSHA, DOT, and manufacturer standards.
  • Repair construction equipment in shop and onsite as needed.
  • Test equipment to verify success of repairs.
  • Collaborate with Yard Operations teammates, drivers and field crews to address equipment needs quickly.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and safety inspections on equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly working area.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service records of all repairs and maintenance performed.

  • Ability to consistently work 45 hours a week
  • Proficient in diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues
  • 5+ years' experience with heavy construction equipment repairs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while staying motivated to complete tasks efficiently
  • Must provide own in-shop tools
  • Welding/fabrication experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry material up to 50lbs on a consistent basis
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required to meet company insurance standards. CDL is a plus
  • Working knowledge of diesel mechanics
