- Implement and support project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and other safe work practices
- Identify, evaluate, develop and deliver project‑specific HSE training
- Implement district HSE communication strategies on projects
- Recognize, evaluate, and advise on hazard identification
- Lead and conduct project HSE inspections and monitor the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans
- Develop and evaluate efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site‑specific security requirements and the environmental plan
- Monitor and audit trade contractor HSE performance
- Participate in on‑site investigative processes and evaluate corrective actions taken
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Coach, train and mentor HSE Coordinators and other employees

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
- Hold a recognized safety designation
- At least 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role in a related industry; supervisory experience is an asset
- Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes
- Conflict resolution skills with the ability to problem‑solve
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and quick to adopt new technology
