Work independently and with other team members to complete all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Perform work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Serve as a designer and/or technical task leader on planning studies, preliminary design studies, and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) or Light Rail Transit (LRT) projects, and will coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with others team members as well as support business development.
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids for BRT and LRT infrastructure
Coordinate tasks and provides leadership and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Perform specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment supporting a senior engineer.

Ability to prepare engineering design reports and construction drawings for highway, roadway, transit, and/or rail.
Professional Engineering license in Utah (or ability to obtain)
Light Rail Transit design experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Bus Rapid Transit design experience
Ability to collaborate and coordinate with design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians
Excellent communication and writing skills.
4 years of relevant experience in transportation design, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Proficient with AutoCAD/Civil 3D or Microstation/Power InRoads or Power GeoPak
Familiarity with BRT/LRT standards and best practices
