The Machine Operator – 2nd Shift works under a supervisor to set up, run, and oversee CNC machines that produce or process materials, aiming for consistent output while minimizing downtime and defects.
Key duties include loading raw materials into the inventory system, storing and retrieving off‑cuts for reuse, monitoring tooling performance, performing quality inspections, conducting routine checks and minor maintenance, and reporting major issues to technicians. The operator also collaborates with the Planning department, completes daily inventory cycle counts, maintains a clean work area, executes MRP/ERP transactions, and adheres to all safety protocols.
Required experience includes operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment, familiarity with inventory systems and ERP software (preferably JD Edwards), and a solid understanding of tooling maintenance and quality inspection procedures. The role demands strong attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities, reliable attendance, effective communication, initiative, and availability for overtime when needed.
The standard schedule is Monday‑Friday, 2:30 PM‑11:00 PM, with an hourly wage ranging from $18.42 to $21.53.
