What you would be doing

  • Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to support strategy.
  • Champion the use of digital platforms, including social media and video tools, to promote services and products.
  • Lead digital campaigns and support major projects, ensuring Speedy is the first-choice provider.
  • Support the wider sales team, sharing best practices and encouraging continuous improvement.
  • Support debt management for your customer base and mitigate financial risk.
  • Maintain health & safety compliance and promote sustainability through the company’s “Decade to Deliver” strategy.
  • Conduct a minimum of 25 customer meetings or site visits per week, covering main contractors and subcontractors.
  • Maintain an active pipeline and deliver consistent sales growth in line with business objectives.
  • Record all activity and sales progress via the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth account transitions and drive compliance on major accounts.
  • Develop new business opportunities and increase value from existing accounts through cross- and up-selling.
  • Proactively manage and grow revenue from a regional customer base and local project sites.

  • Proven experience in sales/account management, preferably in construction, hire, or engineering-related industries.
  • Competence using CRM systems and lead generation tools (e.g. Barbour ABI).
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and confident operating at all levels within a customer’s business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a consultative sales approach.
  • Ability to adapt to change and contribute to digital transformation efforts.
  • A team player mindset with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Sound knowledge of the construction site environment and sector dynamics.
  • A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.
