The Operator role involves operating remote cameras to videotape inside sewer lines, determining whether cleaning, repairs, or reinstatement of service laterals are needed after rehabilitation. This position also requires handling various equipment to install and repair sewer lines using specialized products and processes.
Key duties include preparing pull‑in tubes by examining D‑Rings, chains, and attachments, then installing the tubes with winches, backhoes, cranes, or other appropriate tools. Operators enter manholes or confined spaces to cut lines for installation, monitor gauges and indicators to ensure equipment functions correctly, and cure resin products using inflation tubes, banding boots, and other methods. Additionally, they drive vehicles ranging from pickup trucks to tractor‑trailer rigs, haul crews and equipment, and perform setup and cleanup tasks at job sites.
Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably experience as a construction laborer or installation technician. A valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report is required, and candidates must obtain a CDL with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air‑Brakes endorsements within 180 days of hire. The role demands the ability to wear a respirator and body harness in confined spaces, lift up to 75 lb, and use pneumatic, battery‑powered, or electric tools; OSHA certifications are a plus.
