Structural Engineer

Description

• Design using wood, concrete, and steel structural systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Lead structural design for large-scale projects including multi-family mid-rise buildings, schools, hospitals, and medical offices.
• Manage all phases of projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers and coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional communication and project delivery.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of design documents and calculations.

Requirements

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Portland office. This is a client-facing role requiring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept through completion.

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required; Structural Engineer (S.E.) license in Oregon, Washington, or California strongly preferred.
• Ability to work on-site in the Portland office.
• Proven track record of managing large, complex projects in sectors such as multi-family residential, education, and healthcare.
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience, including project management responsibilities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with experience in client-facing roles.
• Expertise in wood, concrete, and steel design.
