  • Handle materials safely, including identification, labeling, inventory, and cycle counts.
  • Operate forklifts and perform crane pre-use inspections and operations.
  • Manage waste streams, including scrap metal and environmental considerations.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Interpret blueprints and ensure production meets shop standards.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Perform data entry for quality tracking and use SAP for confirmations, picking, and material lookup.
  • Apply basic shop math for measurements, geometry, volume, and area calculations.
  • Ensure grinding safety and control of hazardous energy (LOTO).
  • Identify defects and ensure quality control.
  • Perform material selection, handling, setup, and programming for specific tasks.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complete Job Safety Analysis (JSA) comprehension and sign-off.
  • Conduct crane rigging, use slings and lift devices safely.
  • Operate and maintain chop saws, shears, drill presses, pedestal grinders, sanders, and saws.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, scales, micrometers, calipers, and squares.
  • Select and use task-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct waterjet, gun drill, and painting operations, including surface preparation and sand blasting.
  • Practice hand safety and follow hazardous communication protocols.
  • Perform machine guarding and basic machine maintenance, including pre-use inspections and blade changes.
  • Operate computer systems for email, safety skills, Workday, and SharePoint.
  • Handle pipe threading, tubing bending, and kitting operations.

  • Adhere to safe work habits to protect self and others.
  • Mentoring: Demonstrate ability to train less experienced employees in fabrication utility tasks.
  • Inventory Control: Demonstrate ability to follow established processes to ensure proper inventory control of materials. This includes ability to utilize ERP system (SAP).
  • Used Production Teardown and Cleaning: Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of used product teardown and cleaning. See skills matrix for detailed requirements.
  • Use common hand tools effectively.
  • Inspection: Demonstrate ability to recognize product defects during the manufacturing process. This includes the ability to adjust processes as needed to reduce defects.
  • Must qualify in at least four of the following areas:

  • Standing for extended periods.
