Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements.
Attends regular progress meetings with the D&C or design contractor to ensure ongoing compliance of the contractor’s work with the program, all applicable technical requirements as well as obligations for value engineering, buildability, safety in design, security, etc.
Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to management.
Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas and facilitates technical discussions between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with suppliers and contractors and between other stakeholders.
Oversees design, constructability and value engineering reviews for the airfield scope.
Participates and supports the Technical Risk Assessments (e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs) are comprehensive and complete, safety practices and procedures are implemented, and engineering design and corresponding documentation are in compliance with the associated Quality Assurance plan and procedures.
Manages requests for information and design change requests related to the airfield scope.
