The Construction Specialist oversees civil construction on site for new substations and expansions, handling tasks such as installing E&S controls, clearing, grading, fills, and removal of unsuitable soils. Responsibilities include installing storm‑water management systems (e.g., plunge pools, retention ponds, rip‑rap), coordinating material and equipment deliveries, and reading civil construction drawings. The specialist also monitors substation and forestry activities, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and compliance with environmental and agricultural regulations.
ACRT, Inc. is seeking energetic, experienced professionals who enjoy working outdoors for a full‑time Construction Specialist position. The role is suitable for both entry‑level and seasoned candidates with a background in civil construction, engineering, or related disciplines.
Minimum qualifications include a two‑year degree in Construction Management, civil engineering, or a closely related field, or two years of civil engineering experience in lieu of a degree. Preferred certifications are Virginia Responsible Land Disturber and Sediment & Erosion. Candidates must be able to identify and oversee contractor efforts for temporary access roads, reseed sites, travel throughout eastern Virginia, work independently in rugged terrain and inclement weather, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills, map reading ability, and a valid driver’s license.
