Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define design requirements, resolve technical issues, and optimize component performance.
Interface with internal quality teams, third-party reviewers, and regulatory bodies to support audits, design reviews, and code certification processes.
Maintain current knowledge of ASME Section III revisions, NRC guidance, and industry best practices.
Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB pressure boundary components, which may include vessels, piping, valves, heat exchanger elements, and associated subcomponents used in nuclear facilities.
Prepare design specifications, design reports, load evaluations, stress analyses, and code compliance calculations in accordance with ASME Section III rules and applicable NRC guidance.
Conduct pressure boundary evaluations, including fatigue, thermal, seismic, and time-dependent material evaluations.
Support material selection, fabrication requirements, inspection criteria, and acceptance standards for pressure boundary components.
Support development of fabrication drawings, weld requirements, inspection criteria, material selection, and acceptance standards.
Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers as needed.
Participate in engineering change processes, nonconformance evaluations, and corrective action development as required.

Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred
Minimum of eight years of equipment / component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience.
Demonstrated experience certifying Design Specifications and Design Reports for nuclear pressure-retaining components
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.
Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day
Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)
Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds
Deep understanding of ASME Section III, NQA-1, and related NRC regulations.
Travel required: 0-5%
Experience in finite element stress analysis, mechanical analysis methods, and commercial mechanical stress analysis modeling tools with emphasis on ANSYS.
