Energy Manager (Future Opportunities)

Description

• Quantifies, tracks and reports on all energy savings initiatives to internal and external parties.
• Directs the consultant and contractor throughout the feasibility study, design development, tendering, construction, and commissioning phases of energy retrofit projects.
• Provides a venue for technicians to share experience.
• Conducts energy assessments when energy consumption varies significantly from expected performance.
• Supports the project management team in the delivery of other projects that have an impact on energy consumption.
• Develop and maintain a low-cost / no-cost energy program, working with facility managers, and driving tenant communication and engagement.
• Identifies, implementing and tracking energy saving challenges and opportunities.
• Develops energy audit, re-commissioning scopes of work and capable of carrying out high-level audits remotely and on-stie.
• Identifies opportunities for specific energy saving measures in buildings.
• Identifies buildings best suited for energy retrofit projects.
• Supports resources and schedule the delivery of internal and external energy reports;
• Implements and maintains sub-metering and measurement and verification systems.
• Develops new practices to improve energy performance.
• Recommends energy retrofit projects based on the results of studies, analysis, audits, and re-commissioning process.
• Develop measurement and verification plans and gain client agreement for all projects, capturing both energy and non-energy benefits.
• Participates in the development of the building management plan.
• Works closely with building technicians to ensure continuous commissioning and energy performance improvement of building systems.
• Analyze and assess building automation and control systems data to identify low-cost / no-cost opportunities.
• Monitors energy retrofit project performance and intervene when systems are under-performing.
• Reviews building performance reports.
• Supports the Client Facing Teams with their energy reporting needs
• Educates technicians in energy saving practices and technologies.

Requirements

• Community college diploma or university degree in engineering or energy and building system technology.
• Demonstrated track record of identifying and deploying energy conservation measures in commercial buildings.
• More than 5 years of job related experience.
• Experience leading consulting teams considered an asset.
• Experience working with building controls systems and/or writing HVAC sequences of operations.
• Certified Energy Management Professional from Association of Energy Engineers, an asset
• Project management experience considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with project managers, property managers, building technicians, consultants and contractors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• CMVP from Association of Energy Engineers, an asset
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing energy and/or delivering energy retrofit projects in facilities.
