The Housing Specialist delivers person‑centered services that help individuals experiencing homelessness secure long‑term housing in Hennepin and Ramsey Counties. This role conducts screening, intake, and placement for single adults and families, while building relationships with PPL property managers and private landlords. Specialists apply Harm Reduction and Housing First models to support participants with diverse backgrounds and behavioral health challenges.
Housing Specialists work closely with their manager and collaborate across internal and external teams, including professional development sessions, case consultations, and organizational committees. The position requires regular use of office technology and database systems to track referrals, leases, and client documentation.
Candidates must be comfortable using standard office equipment, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic timekeeping systems, as well as database tools such as Apricot. Experience in housing placement, property‑management partnership building, and knowledge of chronic, HUD, and long‑term homeless definitions are preferred. A degree in health or human services and 1–2 years of relevant experience are strongly desired, along with a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

The full‑time role operates Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with a standard 9 AM‑5 PM schedule. Compensation ranges from $22 to $24 per hour, dependent on qualifications.
