PurposeAs a Mechanical Engineer I at Worley, you will provide mechanical engineering support for projects across the chemical, energy, industrial, or process sectors. Working under supervision, you’ll assist with analysis, design, and drafting activities while developing your technical skills and knowledge.

  • Participate in design reviews and team meetings to ensure work aligns with project requirements.
  • Support mechanical analysis of steel and concrete structures, foundations, and mechanical equipment.
  • Identify technical challenges, propose solutions, and seek guidance when necessary.
  • Keep up to date with technical innovations, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Prepare basic design calculations in line with engineering principles, applicable codes, and industry standards (ASME, ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC).
  • Assist with the preparation of construction specifications, bills of materials, and quantity takeoffs.
  • Assist in delivering mechanical engineering services that meet project, client, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and update design sketches, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to support integrated project delivery.

This is an on-site position at the Charleston, WV office. This position is open only to individuals who are legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, codes, and standards relevant to mechanical design.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS, or similar).
  • Strong problemsolving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
