Monitor and manage the BMS system to ensure optimal performance and environmental control.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of BMS-controlled equipment such as HVAC, CRAC units, chillers, UPS, and generators.
Ensure BMS operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Maintain and update BMS software, graphics, and configurations as needed.
Liaise with internal teams and external vendors for installation, upgrades, calibration, and repairs of BMS components.
Analyze system data and trends to propose energy-saving initiatives and improve performance.
Support commissioning activities for new systems and infrastructure expansion.
Prepare and maintain documentation including PPM Reports, SOPs, logs, and performance reports.
Review system alarms and provide first-line response to system faults or deviations.
Create monthly/Quarterly PPM reports, PPM schedules and ensure all the PPMs have been completed as per schedule and contract terms.
Identifies opportunities for L&M sales. Develops quotes and estimates for the work and submits to Service Team Manager or Customer Service Agent, as appropriate.

We are seeking an experienced O&M BMS engineer I with a strong background in data center infrastructure to oversee and maintain the Building Management System (BMS) at the University of North Dakota. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum operational uptime and efficiency while supporting environmental control systems, safety, and compliance within the operations center.
In-depth knowledge of BMS platforms (Johnson Controls platforms).
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
Minimum 5–10 years’ experience working with BMS in a data center or critical facility environment.
Familiarity with data center systems such as HVAC, power distribution, fire suppression, and access control.
Experience with Modbus, BACnet, LonWorks protocols.
