The EHS Specialist, based in Sanford, NC, supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health and safety programs that drive operational excellence. This role partners closely with site leadership to foster a proactive safety culture focused on risk reduction, loss prevention and regulatory compliance, with travel up to 10%.
Key responsibilities include conducting safety inspections, job‑hazard analyses and risk assessments, assisting with incident investigations and corrective‑action tracking, delivering safety training, and maintaining comprehensive EHS records and metrics. The specialist also collaborates with operations to apply engineering and administrative controls, participates in safety committees, and supports environmental compliance activities such as permits, waste management and emissions reporting.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field and have 0‑3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Required knowledge includes OSHA standards, state and federal EHS regulations, and current loss‑control practices, along with strong data‑analysis, organization, multitasking and Microsoft Office skills.
