The role requires performing routine monthly maintenance of bridge machinery, lubricating and servicing gears, bearings, motors, hydraulic systems, as well as maintaining hydraulic hoses, pumps, valves and related parts to ensure continuous bridge operation.
Technicians assist electricians, support professional engineers during annual inspections, keep detailed maintenance logs, clean bridge surfaces, remove graffiti, and report hazards to supervisors while adhering to Webber safety policies.
Candidates must possess strong communication skills, basic math abilities, the capacity to read and follow safety and technical documentation, and at least a high school diploma or GED with familiarity in plumbing and carpentry practices.
The position demands 24‑hour on‑call availability for emergency bridge issues, physical stamina to stand, walk, climb, lift up to 50 lb, work in tight spaces, and operate hand, pneumatic, hydraulic and electric tools, often in extreme weather and near water.
