Estimator- Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning

Description

• Solicit material and labor costs from contractors
• PRACTICE WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies used in repair of HVAC equipment
• Carrying objects/boxes/print-outs short distances
• Liaison with customer point of contact
• Assists QC Inspectors with scope interpretations
• Responsible for the drafting the project scope of work for all Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) projects
• Solicit bids from Sub Contractors and vendors
• Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Review contracts for accuracy and completeness against a proposed scope of work
• Facilitate the Pre-Construction Meetings with Subcontractors, coordinates schedules, vehicle pass and contractor pass processing
• Develop detailed Scopes of Work for various types of HVAC projects

Requirements

• US citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
• Valid driver's license compliant with REAL ID Act or willing and able to obtain one
• Be adaptable and flexible in work situations
• Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints
• Type; operate a personal computer, with emphasis on accuracy, mental alertness, and neatness
• Basic negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Basic knowledge of regulatory guidelines, particularly provisions of the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation is required
• Technical knowledge and training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC/BAS control systems
• Effective technical, interpersonal, organizational and telephone etiquette skills
• 5-7 years preferred commercial and public construction estimating experience involving major projects
• In depth knowledge and experience working in the HVAC community as a Mechanic, Estimator, or Service Technician
• Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Knowledge of building architectural/structural elements including; alterations and repairs
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge with contractual language
• Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
• Regular, dependable attendance
• Experience with military installation projects
• Extensive work with a personal computer
• Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
• Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent amounts of technical training and experience
