Description

The Welder I position is an entry‑level role focused on basic welding tasks such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. The welder works under experienced supervision, follows detailed instructions, operates equipment safely, and contributes to the successful completion of fabrication projects.

• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on steel components.
• Follow welding procedures and specifications to ensure high‑quality welds.
• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate settings for each project.
• Assist in layout and assembly of components to be welded.
• Inspect completed welds for quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and repair weld defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion.
• Maintain accurate records of welding activities and quality checks.
• Follow all safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
• Participate in safety training and report incidents or near‑misses promptly.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on welding equipment.
• Store and maintain welding tools and equipment properly.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
• Collaborate with other welders, fabricators, and shop personnel to meet project needs.

Requirements

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with technical or vocational training considered a plus. While a certified welding program and prior welding experience are preferred, the company values strong attention to detail, physical stamina, communication skills, and a willingness to learn on the job.
