Analyzes and interprets a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Sometimes need to put in extra hours, including weekends, to keep up with intense construction work at times and deal with unexpected situations and accidents.
Prepares complex quantity and cost estimates.
Prepares and presents technical information to colleagues and clients.
Ensures that projects documents and files are organized.
Signs and seals assigned project documents.
Assists and promotes efforts which develop and mentor junior staff.
May assist in client invoicing and monitors outstanding accounts receivable and collection efforts on projects.
May serve as onsite project representative and/or provide construction observation duties in the field.
Monitors work‐in‐process and assists in directing and/or supervision of the work of other engineers activities on projects.
Usually works in outside weather conditions.
Prepares engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment.
Responsible for contract administration with clients and subconsultants.
Spends some time working indoors to review blueprints and write reports.
Assists Project, Design and/or Office Managers as requested.
Attends client and public meetings as necessary.
Prepares complex design computations, plans and related construction documents.
Coordinates staff activities to ensure project budget, schedule and quality goals are achieved.
Prepares complex reports, studies and permits for various projects.
Assists in the review and preparation of engineering agreements for projects.
Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.

Must be physically capable of walking and moving about on the construction sites, have good hand-eye coordination, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Actively Registered Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer desired.
Usually works a standard 40-hour workweek either daytime or nighttime.
Must possess EIT license in the absence of license with defined path and schedule to obtaining licensure.
Other licensure or registration) may be considered in lieu Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer licensure.
Should possess a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
Demonstrates positive work attitude and behaviors. Participates in team building initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four‐year college or university or approved equivalent required.
