The company is hiring a Superintendent to oversee all job‑site functions related to home construction while delivering excellent customer service. The Superintendent will manage multiple homes from permit acquisition through closing, coordinating subcontractors, homeowner walk‑throughs, and inspections. All work must meet D.R. Horton’s construction and safety standards.
Key duties include maintaining the construction schedule, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Superintendent schedules and evaluates subcontractors, inspects workmanship, authorizes payments, and enforces compliance with local, state, and federal codes. Additional responsibilities cover customer communication, community cleanliness, post‑close warranty management, and collaboration with sales, warranty, and management teams.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, two to four years of relevant experience, and the ability to manage the “13 Milestones of Construction” in JDE. A reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proficiency with construction documents, municipal permitting, and building codes are required. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, cost‑control ability, and proficiency with DRH construction applications and MS Office are essential. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, kneel, lift up to 50 lb, and work in varying weather conditions.
A bachelor’s degree is a plus, and candidates should thrive in high‑pressure, high‑production environments. D.R. Horton offers a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) plan; an employee stock purchase plan; flex spending accounts; life and disability insurance; paid vacation, sick, personal time, and company holidays; and additional voluntary and company‑provided benefits.
