The MEP Engineer/Designer will contribute to the design and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for projects at Stelumar Advanced Manufacturing Inc. (SAMI) and Mattamy Homes Canada. Working closely with architectural, structural and other discipline teams, the engineer will create accurate system layouts, ensure code compliance, and deliver innovative solutions that align with project goals.
- Design and engineer MEP systems in compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Prepare preliminary design layouts to support concept development and guide detailed engineering.
- Coordinate MEP designs with architectural and structural disciplines to maintain design intent.
- Produce comprehensive drawings and specifications for all MEP scopes.
- Seal engineering documents according to licensure requirements for each project.
- Serve as Engineer of Record for permit submissions as required.
- Collaborate with architects throughout all project phases to ensure integrated building design and system compatibility.
- Contribute technical solutions, value‑engineering options, and design alternatives during concept and design development.
- Participate in procurement discussions to identify cost‑effective alternatives for panel construction.
- Utilize MEP software (AutoCAD, Revit) to develop designs and conduct mechanical, electrical, and plumbing analysis.
- Support project meetings, presentations, and discussions with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Prioritize and manage assignments to meet project deadlines and budget limits.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP work or a similar role.
- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license with authority to stamp and seal documents.
- Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong problem‑solving, adaptability, attention to detail, and analytical skills with a data‑driven approach.
- Familiarity with automation tools and data integration for manufacturing workflows.
- Proficiency in MEP software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks Manage, Bluebeam Revu).
- LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) – preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing environments – preferred.
- Experience with modular, prefabricated, or off‑site construction – preferred.
Benefits
Location: Mississauga, Ontario – hybrid work model (four days per week in the office). The position is a full‑time role within Mattamy Homes’ Product Development Team and reports to the Senior Vice President, Integration.
The expected base salary ranges from $70,000 to $110,000, with eligibility for Mattamy’s annual bonus program based on business and individual performance.
