The Engineering Subject Matter Expert reports to the US Hydropower Engineering Manager and serves as the technical lead on time‑sensitive projects. The role works with a diverse team to address challenging issues related to turbines, generators, gates, and balance‑of‑plant, while providing design consultation and mentorship to junior engineers.
The position supports proposal and design phases by identifying risks, guiding strategic technical decisions, sharing lessons learned, and delivering training. It also participates in planning engineering activities and ensures quality and timely solutions.
Successful candidates combine strong technical expertise with high motivation, a positive mindset, and a collaborative attitude. The ideal engineer has a passion for hydropower, more than 15 years of experience, the ability to handle dynamic urgent needs, and perseverance to see large‑scale projects through to completion.
