The Maintenance Technician role supports operation, troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs across commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties.
Duties include troubleshooting and repairing building systems such as packaging machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, grounds equipment, and HVAC; cleaning, lubricating, servicing pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices; installing and modifying equipment; replacing finishes like ceiling tiles, door hardware, paint, flooring; inspecting for unsafe conditions; and responding promptly to emergencies and service requests.
The technician must follow fire and life safety system procedures, perform carpentry and snow removal as needed, comply with codes, regulations, and company safety policies, and use technology (smartphones, tablets, computers, web applications, building automation systems). Completion of required C&W safety training and adherence to uniform dress code are expected.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of related experience in a commercial property setting, technical or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or related fields, a valid driver’s license with a good record, and basic computer skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word. Key competencies are technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multi‑tasking, and sense of urgency.
The position works in a professional office environment with standard office equipment and involves physical demands such as standing, moving, and extending arms. Compensation ranges from $21.25 to $25.00 per hour, with benefits including health, vision, dental, flexible spending, retirement savings, life and disability insurance, and paid time off.
