Experience
The company has over 15 years of experience in civil and underground construction.
500 kV
Substation Retrofits
They specialize in complex pole excavation for live 500 kV substations.
Founded in Central Oregon in the mid‑2000s, R‑2 Contractors has grown into a national civil and underground construction specialist.
Licensed to operate across more than a dozen western states, they deliver large‑scale power infrastructure reliably.
A standout capability is their in‑house horizontal directional drilling and complex pole excavation for live substation retrofits.
Typical projects include utility‑scale renewable energy sites, substations, transmission/distribution networks and highway illumination.
They self‑perform excavation, grading, trenching, foundations, conduit and grounding work, plus drilling and rock sawing.
The company expanded from Oregon to open a second office in Arizona in March 2021.
