  • Advises and directs staff on design approaches to fulfill project requirements.
  • Contributes to the development of standards and/or guidelines for planning activities within the team.
  • Works collaboratively to promote efficiencies and produce high quality work.
  • Performs QA/QC and ensures delivery of completed reports, policies, and studies meet quality standards and project objectives.
  • Provides high-level project development and review of project documents and report quality for complex projects.
  • Supervises and reviews technical assignments of less experienced staff.
  • Participate in a wellness program promoting balanced lifestyles
  • Serves as a technical specialist, applying advanced planning concepts and developing approaches to solve for complexities.
  • Conducts research in areas of considerable scope and complexity.
  • Represents Olsson in a professional manner at all times.

  • A minimum of eight years of experience in planning with increasing responsibility.
  • Is thoroughly familiar with Olsson’s Quality Management Program.
  • Has a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Has solid interpersonal and decision-making skills and the ability to generate innovative and effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Has excellent client service orientation.
  • Has a valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of and the ability to diligently research applicable requirements and regulations.
  • Has a proven track record in meeting and exceeding client expectations through technical work.
  • Certified planner (AICP) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, policy, political science, or a related area of study.
