The operator runs a crawler or rubber‑tired machine equipped with a loader bucket to load structures, dirt, trucks, pipe, and precast concrete from excavation sites.
- Check oil, water, fuel, tires, hydraulic system, and make adjustments before leaving for the job site.
- Conduct safety and maintenance checks on assigned equipment and machinery.
- Start engines and operate controls (throttles, switches, levers, pedals) to run the machine.
- Signal the truck driver to position the truck for loading/unloading dirt, rocks, and other materials.
- Take actions to avoid hazards such as utility lines, other equipment, and falling objects.
- Perform maintenance work including oiling, greasing, and necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Follow the company’s safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety manual.
