Instrument and Control Technician

Direct working relationship with the DCS and Electrical Teams as required.

The purpose of this position is to deliver the project KPI’s for Delivery, Quality, Safety, Cost and Customer Service Excellence through Functional checks, Test Set-up & implementation and fault finding/rectification for the I&C work scope in support of the I&C Lead to ensure all project requirements are met.

• Complete and provide all testing and verification documents to support the handover process.
• Plan and carry out the I&C work sequentially by system as directed by the I&C Lead in compliance with the program/schedule, procedures, method statements and work packs ensuring activities comply with isolation/permit requirements, Health, Safety and Environmental standards of the project, regulations and relevant laws.
• Perform Instrumentation Checks, Verifications and Functionality from the device to the DCS, Turbine Control System (TCS) and ancillary equipment.
• Train other qualified personnel in the safe, proper, effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems and equipment.
• Address site startup risks that arise on the project as a result of the I&C Scope of work.
• Reports on a daily and weekly basis directly to the I&C Lead to deliver the functional requirements.
• Provide information to the I&C Lead to Maintain a daily log of site significant activities.
• Work in conjunction with the DCS Team to accurately complete the instrument check outs, instrument calibrations, valve set up, calibrations and stroke testing, loop testing, system function testing, trouble shooting/rectification and punch list clearing to ensure the instrumentation is ready for start-up within the time constraints of the programme.
• Provide “As Built” red line drawings & documentation for any I&C changes or modifications.
• To form an integral part of the I&C team at site to deliver the requirements of the project specific requirements and scope of work and in line with the project schedule.
• Provides technical support for safe & timely turnover of the I&C scope of work.
• Provide detailed information to the I&C Lead for the preparation of the required Daily and weekly Project Reports.
• Work within a team to collectively perform the I&C Works to achieve the common goal.

We are hiring UK based I&C Technician for regular contract work starting in 2026. We require Steam Turbine experience.

• Capable of delivering results in a diverse, ever changing environment

• Exceptional knowledge of the detailed operation principles of the instrumentation and control systems of the Plant and Associated Equipment, Processes and Systems.

• Exceptional ability to carry out Instrument/Valve set-up & calibrations, testing functionality, trouble shooting and rectifications quickly and accurately.
• Ability to follow instruction and thereafter, to use own initiative to complete required tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication at all levels
• Understand relevant project related Safe Systems of Work, isolation and permit requirements for safe implementation of I&C checks & tests, escalates risks and issues to the I&C Lead when necessary
