Description

• Identifies and reports operational issues, equipment needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Observes load hook up and determines safety of load.
• Monitors compliance with safety protocols and company policies on the worksite.
• Supports problem-solving and decision-making on day-to-day operational issues.
• Communicates work assignments, priorities, and schedules to team members.
• Ensures proper documentation of work completed and materials used.
• Clean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary.
• Interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed.
• Loads, transports, and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
• Provides on-the-job training and guidance to less experienced team members.
• Oversees and coordinates the work of crew members to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Assist other craft workers as needed.
• May assist in lifting, position and securing or materials and work pieces during installation.
• May be responsible for routine maintenance or repairs.
• May be required to manipulate equipment on unlevel working surface.
• Acts as a point of contact between crew members and supervisors.
• Inspects crane for defective parts, documents and notifies the supervisor of the defects or malfunctions.
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
• Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and previous years of related experience.
• Learn to read and understand plans and specifications; may be required to interpret load charts.
